Visiting the Mill City Museum to learn about Minneapolis and the mill industry.  Today, although the mills are closed, the company continues on as General Mills.  We used an Entertainment book coupon to receive a buy one, get one free discount.

Minnesota has a large population of Scandinavian people and it was only natural for us to visit the American Swedish Institute in honor of Lisa’s heritage.

At the gift shop, Lisa got me my favorite book of all time, "The Wonderful Adventures of Nils," a story I read in the fifth grade and inspired me to visit Scandinavia

St. Paul’s Summit Avenue is a five-mile stretch of Victorian mansions and homes that is the largest stretch of Victorian architecture in the country.  We didn’t quite do five-miles, but we did get in a good two hours of admiring the homes and reading about the history from a map I found online.  The sun was out and the people were out for a lovely Saturday afternoon walk…
